Trails Committee Kick-Off Zoom Call

We are forming our first committee, Trails and Land Acquisition. This committee will be focusing on identifying potential areas for new, horse-friendly trails in our region, and improving existing ones. The committee will research and map out areas of interest and create proposals/presentations for landowners and managers to consider for new trails. These area include Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, State lands, private land and conservancy lands.

The Trails Committee will also help support state-wide organizational efforts for trail sustainment and creation, such as Michigan Horse Council and Michigan Horse Trails Association. This can be by way of attending meetings relative to our region, educating land owners and managers on horse safety and trail etiquette.

The committee Chair will give monthly updates to the SBEC Board.
